Editorial policy
Prime Match Report aims to explain football accurately and plainly. We make our reasoning visible, correct meaningful errors and distinguish editorial work from paid collaborations.
Accuracy and clarity
We check descriptions against the rules and terminology relevant to the subject, use established football language carefully and make clear when a point is an interpretation rather than a settled fact. Tactical explanations simplify a fluid game; we say so where that distinction matters and avoid claiming that a single example proves a universal pattern.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers and are not sold to partners. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or influence over an editorial conclusion. Any material connection relevant to a piece will be disclosed alongside it.
Corrections
When an article contains a material error, we review the point and amend the text when warranted. We aim to make significant corrections clear in the article rather than quietly leaving readers with a misleading account. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page, identifying the passage and the proposed change.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is clearly identified as such and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, the image is labelled. Illustrations are used to support an explanation, not as evidence of a real match event.
