Prime Match Report welcomes pitches that help readers understand association football more clearly. We value a precise question, sound reasoning and writing that makes tactics legible without assuming specialist knowledge.

What to pitch

Propose an evergreen explanation of a formation, player role, pressing choice, transition or recurring match pattern. A strong pitch names the reader's question, states the central idea and explains what the finished piece will help them notice. We welcome fresh angles, useful comparisons and careful explanations of familiar football concepts.

What makes a good piece

Use clear terms, explain specialist language and keep examples in service of the main point. Separate what can be seen from what you infer, avoid sweeping claims and make room for exceptions when they matter. We do not seek unsupported predictions, thin rewrites of match coverage or pitches that depend on access to confidential information.

How to send a proposal

Send your proposal through the Contact page. Include a working title, a short outline, the category it fits and a brief description of your relevant experience or approach. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; please do not send a complete article unless requested.
